Very comfortable inside and with lovely gardens and and could not be better located right on the esplanade - through the bar, across the gardens, over the road, and you're on the superb dog-friendly beach with wonderful views along the Riviera coatline. Room had a sea view without even asking and dog-friendly. There's a bar you might actually want to spend some time in with good food available and a terrace looking over the gardens. Staff quite friendly and accommodating. Minutes from the Starcross ferry (cash only and the prices have gone up a bit but absolutely worth it for the trip to Dawlish Warren) and minutes from Exmouth centre and the railway station. Less than that for The Grove (really great food) and the fish and chip restaurant with a view (also dog-friendly). The centre of Exmouth is not too shabby for a seaside resort.

The Imperial Hotel Exmouth has three important strengths. First is its location, situated in large grounds on the Esplanade only a very short distance from a sandy beach, it is also a short distance from the town centre with a multitude of small shops and alfresco dinning. Secondly is its staff, friendly, helpful, and approachable who take your comments seriously and do their very best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. For anyone having breakfast and dinner this is the place to be. The food really is first class from the full English breakfast (multiple other options) to the three-course evening meal. The menu is both varied and imaginatively presented. Would I return to this hotel? I will be booking my next stay shortly.

It was exceptional value for money. Our dog was made to feel welcome and there is a special area set aside for those guests who do not wish to leave their dog in the bedroom whilst dining. Our family room was spacious, warm and light with a fantastic view of the seafront and illuminations. Location was great, near to the beach and close to the shops, all on the level. The food was superb, breakfast buffet all fresh and hot with really good quality items. The evening meal was excellent with a good choice of items, beautifully presented. Fiona in the restaurant was particularly attentive and very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and area. We will definitely return.

We received an upgrade as there was an event on in the main breakfast / dinner room which meant I was worried about my room not being quiet and I need quiet due to my neurological disorder.. No extra payment. The room was clean and comfortable with a good amount of tea coffee a large tv and sea views. Staff were also really helpful for the duration of the stay. It was a five minute walk to the beach/ prom and five minutes into the town centre.

Rebecca

Friendly and helpful staff Room looked out to the sea front and gardens. Clean and bright room.and bathroom Comfy bed with two comfy pillows Crisp white cotton duvet cover and sheets. Duvet cover longer at the bottom so it could tuck under the mattress at the end of thr bed. Good range and ammount of complimentary coffee and tea. Tissues in room Good towels and bathmat Window that opened! Nice liquid soap in dispensers in bathroom
